Research Associate
J.L. Partners is looking to hire a Research Associate to join our insight and strategy business. J.L. Partners is an international polling and analytics firm, conducting both qualitative and quantitative research. We are looking to build on our strong and recognized brand through delivering more exciting US, UK, and international work advising senior politicians, business executives, leading think tanks, media outlets, and a range of other organizations.
We are looking for enthusiastic self-starters who have strong data and communication skills and a passion to understand how people think. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in qualitative and quantitative research, including qualitative recruitment, logistics, insight development, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with recruiting participants for qualitative research projects (focus groups, interviews, etc.)
Manage outreach and communication with research participants
Manipulate and process data collected from opinion polling
Advise and collaborate with the team on client projects
Conduct desk research and contextual pieces as needed
Write memos and executive summaries on focus groups and
Visualising data for use in presentations and briefings
What We’re Looking For:
A Bachelors or Masters degree, ideally with a component related to political science, international politics, or statistics
Strong communication and organizational skills
A self-starter with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
Curiosity about how people think, what drives behavior, and how insights shape strategy
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across tasks, often with tight deadlines.
Experience of programming languages, especially experience using R, ggplot and tidyverse strongly preferred
The ability to visualize complicated data in the simplest way possible
A desire to learn quickly and contribute meaningfully
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills preferred
